Brenda Hurley trained as a dress designer at the Regional College of Art Bradford. Yorks. After working in the light clothing industry she started her own company, designing and manufacturing garments for the mail order industry. When she moved with her family from Yorkshire to Hertfordshire she retrained in fine art at St Albans Art College (Hatfield University) shortly after she completing the course she exhibited locally.

When her forth child started in education in 1990, she returned to college to top up her skills. At Amersham Art College, Brenda earned a distinction for the Buckinghamshire Higher Diploma of Art and Design course, since then she has continued to show her works both locally and nationally. Brenda Hurley is a member of National Acrylic Painters Association, Bucks Art Society, Bucks 21, Bucks Art Forum, Art 4 Work, Studio 18. Brenda Hurley also runs workshops and demonstrates for Art Clubs. Brenda Hurley has written and illustrated two children’s books for an insurance company based on stranger danger and home protection. Her work is in private collections in Arizona, Singapore and Switzerland.
